CURRICULUM

At Pop-ins Creative Schoolhouse, we believe in the philosophy that children learn best through play and creativity – this has been proven through many accredited national studies on how children's brains develop, so that is the focus of our curriculum, which is individually designed by our wonderful teachers.

However, we understand that parents like to have some structured conventional "learning" time for their children, so to balance out these concerns, we subscribe to Learning Box Preschool program for 2 to 5 year olds. This program is taught 5 days a week for 1 hour each morning for the 2's and 1 1/2" - 2 hours for the 3 to 5 year olds which we strongly believe is more than sufficient for these age groups.

Learning Box is a professionally developed early learning program that is consistent with the 2017 NAEYC requirements. These building blocks guide the curriculum development for children ages 3- 5 years old.

The head curriculum director at The Learning Box has a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology. In addition to her academic education, she has over 20 years teaching in a classroom.

FOOD & NUTRITION

"Schools are an ideal place for establishing lifelong healthy eating habits." Karen J. Coleman

Eating healthy is a key component of youth development. A child's body needs nutrition, not just food.

We at Pop-ins and strong believers in fresh and nutritious meal alternatives for children - tasty doesn't have to mean unhealthy.

For the most part, healthy young children eat when they're hungry and stop when they're full. They're following their natural, internal cues, and we shouldn't mess around with that by encouraging them to eat past the point of fullness. Teaching our kids to be in tune with their own hunger and fullness cues will allow them to have a comfortable relationship with food and avoid overeating as they grow older.

We offer healthy balanced meals to our children which include breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks.

We have a full time cook on staff, and all meals and snacks are prepared on site in our kitchen from fresh ingredients daily.

Vegetarian/vegan options are available upon request.

In the spring and summer, we hope to participate in the CHOP program (Cooking up Healthy Options with Plants) which is designed to increase the consumption of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables grown by the children in our own on site garden.

Testimonials

"Pop-Ins Creative School House is a wonderful facility for childcare. We were with them for 4 years before we relocated cities, and put both of our children into the trusted hands of Tracy, and the rest of the amazing staff.
They're hands on, integrating play time with learning and do a wonderful job balancing that. They understand young minds need creativity and structure.
We were very sad to leave, to say the least!" Forreste M.

"I have known Fida Attieh, the owner of Pop-Ins Creative Schoolhouse, for many years as a friend. Fida is the most determined, proficient, able, caring and generous person I know. She has the perfect balance between caring and compassion and steadfast business acumen to run her preschool. She also has an incredible way with children and a never ending energy and ability to give. She has created a beautiful school with devoted staff that have been there a long time and truly care about the children. Her focus is on a healthy and happy environment for the children in all ways: curriculum, care, nutrition, play as well as attention to the individual needs of every child. I would have full confidence having my child attend her school and know he would be in the best hands possible." Nina Mc
